Target launches a virtual giving tree on www.Target.com/salvationarmy

On Thursday, November 16, Target launched the Target/Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree. Target.com visitors are able to purchase a virtual ornament for any chosen dollar amount to provide new clothing, toys or food to families in need. The Salvation Army will determine how the contributions will be distributed based on needs across the country.

"We share The Salvation Army's goal of helping those in need every day and we're proud to help them expand the reach of their already successful Angel Tree Program with our new online component at www.Target.com/salvationarmy," said Laysha Ward, vice president of community relations, Target. "Working together, Target and The Salvation Army will help take giving to new heights this Christmas season through the Angel Giving Tree."

"This new online campaign at www.Target.com/salvationarmy will make it even easier for people to support The Salvation Army's efforts to help people in need," said Major George A. Hood, National Community Relations and Development Secretary for The Salvation Army. "The Christmas season is an important time for us to collect donations for people in need, and we value Target's continued partnership and shared goals around this effort."
